The Sanders campaign's senior adviser, Chuck Rocha, spoke with CBS News political reporter Ed O'Keefe about how his team plans to court minority voters.
"If I told you that we were doing all of this work without a Latino department you would say I was crazy but we don't have a Latino department at the HQ or in the Iowa office. We're integrated that into every piece of the operation."
"This is the formula to win. We've looked at this as a totality, this is the way to organize in the community.... We've hired folks from the community, to talk to the community, who look like the community.
Rocha said that the campaign’s events centered around soccer or tamales are a testament to its “cultural competency.”
