Joseline Garcia is the daughter of Mexican and Guatemalan immigrants. Her organizing career began as a student where she was empowered by her peers with the tools and knowledge to become an agent of change. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2016, Joseline moved to Washington D.C. to lead the largest and oldest student organization in the country, the United States Student Association (USSA). She primarily focused on strengthening the political and electoral power of students and young people by: leading voter registration programs, guiding local student issue campaigns, introducing Free College legislation, and protecting Student Loan Borrower programs as a Department of Education Negotiator.
Joseline continued this work in her role as the Bernie 2020 Student Organizing Manager for California and New York where she served as the youngest senior staff member in those states. Joseline is passionate about empowering and creating opportunities with communities, and believes that change will come directly from the people.
